Our mission is to make a positive difference in a child’s life by offering encouragement and support. We have mentors and tutors who are skilled and gracefully willing to give time and effort to assist a child in improving in their future in life and making the grade, we make sure this is done with efficiency and confidence. We wish this to be a rewarding experience and hope that each child gains a wonderful understanding of what it is like to have a positive role model for the future generation.
Boys2men-Girls2women is a community non-profit organization that is committed to serving the community by assisting children between the ages of 6-18 years of age in becoming productive members of society by instilling positive, spiritual, cultural, educational, vocational, and social values also, we are doing something about Fresno’s alarming school dropout rate which includes the teen pregnancy rate. We are dedicated to saving today’s youth in order to secure a brighter tomorrow for future generations. Boys 2 Men Girls 2 Women has been serving at risk youth for 20 plus years which began in the year 2000. We are committed to serve our local communities and provide as much needed assistance for our next generation.
We do this by working closely together to improve the child through counseling, tutoring, mentoring and by developing relationships with the child’s teacher, school and custodial parent or guardian. Each child turns in a weekly progress report and receives a mandatory on-site school visit from one of our staff. What an impact this alone has made on the children’s educational progress, inter belief, and self-worth.
Our foundation is helping to take responsibility for the future of these children. Right now, there are hundreds of children of all ages in our city and community with no place to turn, but crime then jail. Some children can’t be blamed: they are victims of their environment, of society, separated by absent parents, drug and alcohol abusing parents, etc…
As you might know Fresno County alone sends more teens to juvenile facilities than any other county in California and is also in the top ten categories for teen pregnancy, school dropouts, drugs, and gangs and the statistics are skyrocketing. We strive to change these discouraging statistics by intervening in children’s lives before they become victims to their surroundings, to society, abusive situations and just another number.
We aim to take responsibility for these children and provide a healthy drug and violence-free atmosphere for them. We offer tutoring, after school programs, Summer Camp and special events with a simulated family atmosphere.
We strive to keep children from as we say "Falling through the Cracks" FTC for short, if you can save just one child you can save a generation.
Provide one-to-one mentoring relationships for children and youth ages 6-18 from primarily single-parent households. We start by partnering with universities, colleges and junior colleges by establishing federal work studies contracts in order to recruit, hire and train students
to infiltrate the elementary and secondary schools surrounding the colleges.
Each FTC child will be assigned a mentor who will incubate, encourage and tutor the child throughout the school year. Never to leave them alone again.
These students will examine the elementary and secondary
schools while following all the procedures required in order to become legal volunteers with the districts. Once the college studies students become legal volunteers, their goal will be to identify what Boys 2 MEN/-Girls 2 Women calls “Falling Through the Crack” (FTC) children. It is well documented that the prison industry can determine the number of beds it will need
in the future by looking at the current third -grade reading level.
Promote academic excellence and provide direction in career planning. Each child is “Paired” with a tutor if needed.. B2M/G2W will work with children to establish weekly progress reports as they are tutored two to three days per week. We have volunteers who work with the children after school with completing their homework assignments so they do not fall through the cracks and become behind on their grades. This process works in helping the children advancing in their acedemic skills.
Weekly classes that teach essential laws that promote successful living skills. Children are required to attend weekly meetings in which the following 15 courses will be taught:
A-Self confident B-Initiative & leadership C-Self Control. D-Enthusiasm,
E- Accurate thinking, F - Concentration & Focus, G-Pleasing personality,
H-Imagination, I-“A definite chief aim”, J-Habit of saving, K-The habit of doing more than paid for, L-Cooperation, M- Profiting by failure,
N-Tolerance, O-The Golden Rule.
We provide an after school to assist the children with completing their homework assignments in a timely manner. Our after-school program runs from 3 pm to 5 pm Monday thru Thursday.
We strive to assist the students in improving their grades and help them from falling behind in their classwork. We will help your child(ren) keep up their grades and communicate with their teacher to make sure they are not missing assignments. Tutors will help them meet grade level in Math and English. The tutoring program is no cost, however there is a $25 enrollment fee.
Our Summer Learning Enrichment Day Camp is a Summer Camp that motivates, inspires, and trains youth toward reaching their fullest potential.
Boys2MEN-Girls2WOMEN feels summer is a very valuable time and a crucial season that cannot be wasted away to hours upon hours of Video games, Social media and Television. Each year's Camp will be divided into four (4) quadrants. We will begin with Inspiration and Motivation in Bethel Sanctuary/Auditorium then we breakdown into 4 quadrants .
Boys2MEN-Girls2WOMEN is a community nonprofit organization with a mission to keep children in school, off drugs, out of gangs and teen pregnancy prevention. Currently Fresno is in the top 10 in the nation in all categories.
This is soon to change with partners like you.
