Every Volunteer/Tutor/Mentor must meet specific qualifications as we do work with children:

  • Will be LIVESCAN fingerprinted by private Livescan operator for our Boys2Men-Girls2Women. NO EXCEPTIONS. (18 years and older only)
  • Under 18 years of age do NOT need to be fingerprinted
  • Must provide a photocopy of a CA Driver's License or valid ID.
  • Must provide a photocopy of social security card.
  • Must be aware of being a Mandated Reporter. 
  • Must be able to tutor a group of up to 5 students. (For Tutors/Mentors)
  • Must be able to teach state standards for grades K-8 in subjects of math and language arts. (For Tutors/Mentors)
  • Must wear an employee ID badge during tutoring sessions (tutors). This will be provided at training.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be self-motivated and organized. 
  • Must be sensitive to the social as well as academic needs of the student(s).
  • Must be committed to working with parents as educational partners and develop positive communication between parent(s), student and tutor (yourself).

Current Volunteer Opportunities Open

After School Program Tutor - Instructor - 2 needed

 Our after-school tutoring program runs daily Tuesday thru Friday 3 pm to 5:00 pm. As an After-School Program Instructor you will oversee and assist other Volunteer Staff. Volunteer staff and instructors are scheduled to work from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm so that they can assist with daily set up and lesson prep for students, then tear down and clean up, while waiting for parents to pick up students, before signing out at 5:30 pm. The Tutoring Program itinerary consists of fragmented time for homework, or tutoring exercises. Student lunch is accompanied by a group activity. A half-hour of reading takes place while the tutor listens as the student reads.  At 5 pm the tutoring session ends and parents begin to pick the children up.

Applications will be taken on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am. Applicants must be available for 2 hours when turning in the application, for orientation and interview on the same day. Adult applicants will also be required to undergo fingerprints the same day (off-site) which has a $30 fee.  (Minors will not have to undergo a background check).

After School Program Tutor-5-6 volunteers needed

 Boys2Men Girls2Women After School Tutoring Program runs daily Monday thru Thursday 3pm to 5pm. Staff are scheduled to work 2pm to 5:30pm so that they can assist with daily set up and lesson prep for students, then tear down and clean up, while waiting for parents to pick up students, before signing out at 5:30pm. The Tutoring Program itinerary consists of fragmented time for: homework, or tutoring exercises. A student lunch is accompanied  such as the basics like reading and math with a group activity. A half hour of reading takes place while the tutor listens as the student reads. Scheduled Guest Speakers will come in twice a week and present on positive image, and character-building topics. At 5pm the tutoring session ends and parents begin to pick children up.

Applications will be taken in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am. Applicants must be available for an hour and half when turning in application, for orientation and interview on the same day. Application Orientation Interviews must be scheduled and are not random.

Video Production Specialist

We are seeking a talented, upbeat individual to join our team as a full-time Video Production Specialist. This person will be a team-player, with a track record of success in their last roles.

As a Video Production Specialist at Boys2Men Girls2Women you will have the opportunity to showcase your creative expertise, strong technical skills, and produce engaging videos that help showcase why B2MG2W has 20 years of experience building positive lifestyles and improving academics for youth in our community. You’ll have the opportunity to make an impact and tell stories through video and be a key player who understands the impact video makes. In addition, you will:

  • Have a background in shooting video or as a video editor, but relish the behind-the-scenes role producing and packaging video content that captures and engages
  • Have strong technical skills, and experience video production software and apps in the industry.
  • Be a strong communicator: The ability to communicate status updates to Executive Director and Board that will set you apart in this role
  • Have strong interpersonal skills – we work with a variety of clients, and embracing diversity is why B2MG2W stands out, and why clients want to watch our videos
  • Patience and a sense of humor: You know the drill…project needs can change on a moment’s notice, there are fire drills and deadlines, but you are calm, cool, and collected in times of change
  • A strong understanding of B2MG2W and how we make an impact in our industry.
  • Previous Video Production experience with an agency or within a creative department desired. Those with freelance or contract experience also considered with the right skill set
  • will work with schedule/availability

Development Assistant (Fundraising)

The development assistant is responsible to assist the Director of Development/Project Coordinator in the coordination of the organization’s fundraising efforts. They might develop a fundraising plan, secure financial support, run special events for donors, and run other projects to ensure the organization meets its annual goals. The Development Assistant will also assist with data entry to the donor database, acquisition of donations from corporate businesses, and private donors. 

This position requires a person who is outgoing, and possesses social and communicative skill to promotes the mission of the nonprofit among the local community. Other duties would be to assist in organizing fundraising events, recruit volunteers, or arrange other projects to get the community excited about and invested in the organization.

Janitorial Staff-2 Volunteers needed

Our organization strives to provide a safe, healthy and sanitary environment where at-risk children 5-18 come for tutoring in a weekly program. For this reason, we are in need of several janitorial volunteer persons to assist in different shifts throughout each day: Each restroom and kitchen sanitation, sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, setting up and tearing down of tables and chairs, and supply/equipment inventory must be done to maintain our facility for use of the tutoring and mentoring programs. Our facility consists of a multi-purpose central auditorium, administrative office, executive office, a classroom, and equipment/supply room.

If you possess these skills, and work well around children and families please come to our organization to apply. Applications are accepted on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am along with an Orientation, Video, and Interview to follow from 12noon-2pm, same day.

Fundraising Staff

This position requires a person who is outgoing and possesses the social and communicative skills to promote the mission of the nonprofit among the local community. Other duties would be to assist in organizing fundraising events, recruit volunteers, or arrange other projects to get the community excited about and invested in the organization.  Correspondence via email and batch mailing; some phone calls, and daily data entry.  

If you have this experience and would like to apply to perform your skillset to assist our organization, please apply on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10am-12noon.  The application process includes an Orientation, Video, and Interview which will last approx.  2 hours, on these two days only.

Outreach Assistant

We seek an outgoing individual who is energetic and loves serving the community.


Outreach Assistant duties are as follows:

  1.  Assist in planning, organizing, and making presentations at schools, youth groups etc.
  2. Perform required research and develop strategies to accomplish foundation goals as it relate to youth.
  3. Research, evaluate, and recommend funding sources and programs that will support and address the needs of the foundation.
  4. Work with the directors and counselors with speaking to “at risk” and troubled youth.
  5. Assist in training volunteers that will assist in Youth Outreach Dept.
  6. Develop and maintain community, corporate, and company relations as needed for the marketing department and support of other departments as needed.
  7. Utilize computer skills for data entry, data processing, reports, offices, files and multiple tasks where needed.
  8. Attend staff meeting and training classes.
  9. Perform other various duties where deemed necessary by the Director for the overall benefit of the foundation.
  10.  Assist in creative ideas to reach out that will help grow the foundation in it's efferts in reaching at risk youth. 

Represent the foundation at schools and various organizations
