Every Volunteer/Tutor/Mentor must meet specific qualifications as we do work with children:

  • Will be LIVESCAN fingerprinted by private Livescan operator for our Boys2Men Girls2Women. NO EXCEPTIONS. (18 years and older only)
  • Under 18 years of age do NOT need to be fingerprinted
  • Must provide a photocopy of a CA Driver's License or valid ID.
  • Must provide a photocopy of social security card.
  • Must be aware of being a Mandated Reporter. 
  • Must be able to tutor a group of up to 5 students. (For Tutors/Mentors)
  • Must be able to teach state standards for grades K-8 in subjects of math and language arts. (For Tutors/Mentors)
  • Must wear an employee ID badge during tutoring sessions (tutors). This will be provided at training.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be self-motivated and organized. 
  • Must be sensitive to the social as well as academic needs of the student(s).
  • Must be committed to working with parents as educational partners and develop positive communication between parent(s), student and tutor (yourself).

Office-Clerical Volunteer

Our office is currently in need of office clerical support volunteer persons to assist in daily functions. Perform general and various office duties, under the supervision of the Office Executive Administrator and Executive Director.


Our administrative office is equipped with several workstations where many clerical tasks are accomplished on a daily basis. We would like those with basic or intermediate office skills of Google Sheets/Docs, data entry, Microsoft office skills,(Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher), filing, copying, printing, mailing, making labels, etc. If you do not have experience we will train. We are very experienced in helping those with little skills, become skilled office workers and we do give a reference when you are done with the program.


You will need to attend our 2 hour orientation interview. Applications will be taken on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am. Adult applicants will also be required to undergo fingerprints the same day (off-site) which is $30 for self-volunteers. (Minors will not have to undergo a background check).

Human Resources Volunteer - Long Term

 Our organization is in need of a Human Resources Assistant, if you have experience in this field and love serving the community and children this would be the right place for you. 


  • Supports human resources processes by conducting orientation, maintaining records and information.

Gardener-Groundskeeper

 Our organization is seeking a few volunteers gardeners-groundskeeper to keep our grounds maintained on a daily basis. Responsibilities will be maintaining gardens around the facility and landscaped areas. 


Duties will include planting, pruning, raking, maintaining plants and monitoring the health of plants, etc.

•  Planting all types of plants, including flowers, shrubs and trees 
•  Maintaining plants by watering, fertilizing and trimming them 
•  Using and maintaining gardening tools and light gardening machinery 
•  Identifying and treating diseases, pest infestations and other issues with garden plants 
•  Cleaning up garden areas 
•  Providing recommendations for gardens 
•  Handling edging, mulching and other garden tasks 
•  Following safety guidelines for applying chemicals and using equipment

Video Content Creator Volunteer

Love the community? Love serving children in our local community and have a passion creating amazing content for social media? Then you are in the right place. 

As a Video Content Creator at Boys 2 MEN Girls 2 Women, you’ll be able to assist our graphic design and marketing team and produce, and create videoes and content that tells our story, promotes our services, and reach the community we serve. There is more than one way to tell a story, and we are looking for a Video Content Creator who can take one video and create many different stories from that video.  You are a storyteller, with a passion for sharing and/or creating these stories through video. In addition you:

  • Understand the impact video content makes with our audience. You take as much pride in a 30-minute documentary as you do in a short 30-second mobile promotion, be creative.
  • Be creative and able to work with subject matter experts to turn ideas into compelling scripts that are shared through video
  • Provide feedback to Executive staff on project timelines, potential challenges, and suggestions and ideas to take a project idea from concept to completion
  • Use a variety of technical skills and different types of software to complete production.
  • Possess strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Work in a team environment, from a wide variety of departments, including corporate communications, marketing, design, and social media

Volunteer Event Logistics Assistant

As a Volunteer Logistics Assistant, you will be soliciting for event donations via email. Will also be responsible for soliciting gift cards and product donations for annual events from local companies via email. You will also be doing data entry handling phones to compile and record donor information. 2 positions are available for 4 hours a day.


Types of event tickets - We often would get tickets donated to all events coming to Fresno. These events come to the Save Mart Center, Convention Center, and the Fairgrounds.  The events are usually events such as Harlem Globetrotter, Disney on Ice, Monster Jam Truck, Barnum & Bailey Circus, American Idol in Concert, Etc. etc., etc… We utilized these tickets 1st to give to our students and volunteers and then to sell as a fundraiser.  Even if the event is not kid-friendly we still want to request tickets.  These tickets can be offered to the public as a fundraiser.

After School Program Tutor- 6-8 volunteers needed for Fall Tutoring

 Boys2Men Girls2Women After School Tutoring Program runs daily Tuesday thru Friday 3pm to 5pm. Staff are scheduled to work 2pm to 5:30pm so that they can assist with daily set up and lesson prep for students, then tear down and clean up, while waiting for parents to pick up students, before signing out at 5:30pm. The Tutoring Program itinerary consists of fragmented time for: homework, or tutoring exercises. A student lunch is accompanied such as the basics like reading and math with a group activity. A half hour of reading takes place while the tutor listens as the student reads. Scheduled Guest Speakers will come in twice a week and present on positive image, and character-building topics. At 5pm the tutoring session ends and parents begin to pick children up.


Applications will be taken in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00am. Applicants must be available for an hour and half when turning in application, for orientation and interview on the same day. Application Orientation Interviews must be scheduled and are not random.

Volunteer After School Program Tutor - Instructor - 1 needed

Outreach Coordinator Volunteer

Have a gift for public relations? Love serving the community and reaching out to people? As an Outreach Volunteer this position requires a person who is outgoing and possesses the social and communicative skills to promote the mission of the nonprofit among the local community.  As an Outerach Coordinator you would be responsible for connecting our organization with the surrounding community. Duties would include brainstorming potential partnerships for engagement with the local community, maintaining a calendar for outreach events and working closely with community partners to plan and execute various outreach events.


• Public relations: An Outreach Coordinator often will be in charge of fundraising and creating strategic relationships with donors. Public relations is a way that an Outreach Coordinator will communicate with donors and the media to represent the organization. Press releases, brochures, social media, email campaigns and attending community events are ways an Outreach Coordinator uses public relations.

• Research: An Outreach Coordinator collects data and information to focus on the donors, events and venues that may be useful to the organization. 

• Administrative duties: Project management and event coordination are some administrative duties an Outreach Coordinator may do in addition to supervising staff and office work that benefits the organization.

Fundraising Volunteer - 4 Volunteers needed

 

This rewarding volunteer opportunity will allow you to help an organization with a great cause that serves our local communities.


Organize fun activities to raise funds or otherwise solicit and gather monetary donations, goods needed to accomplish our mission, or other gifts to award our youth; for our non-profit organization. May also raise awareness of the organization's work, goals, and financial needs.


You will assist with seeking sponsors, venues for events, and developing a variety of packages. We need those who will work well independently, be a quick learner, and be an out-of-the-box thinker.

Janitorial/Housekeeping Staff-4 Volunteers needed

Our organization strives to provide a safe, healthy and sanitary environment where at-risk children 5-18 come for tutoring in a weekly program. For this reason, we are in need of several janitorial volunteer persons to assist in different shifts throughout each day: Each restroom and kitchen sanitation, sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, setting up and tearing down of tables and chairs, and supply/equipment inventory must be done to maintain our facility for use of the tutoring and mentoring programs. Our facility consists of a multi-purpose central auditorium, administrative office, executive office, a classroom, and equipment/supply room.

 Marketing Assistant responsibilities include assisting in organizing campaigns and developing marketing strategies. This work will be a critical factor for the smooth operation of the Marketing department and the attainment of its goals, as well as for the long-term growth of the organization.

Language Translator Specialist Volunteer - Bilingual

 As a Language Translator Specialist Volunteer you will Interpret written or spoken material into one or more other languages (Spanish/Hmong etc), ensures meaning and context are maintained, creates glossaries or term dictionaries, possesses knowledge of multiple languages, works with individual clients and corporations. Translator Job Duties

Kitchen Help - For After School Tutoring

Seeking volunteers to assist with preparing and serving meals for only 3 hours a day from 2 pm to 5 pm. Set-up as well as cleaning up.


Our organization is in need of food server-kitchen volunteer for our daily After School Tutoring Program. The program is held Tuesday thru Friday each week, 3-5, however our kitchen help  hours will be 2pm-5pm, in order to clean kitchen if needed, and prepare food bar, needs list for next day and all other of the following duties as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities of Kitchen-Food Server

  • They perform all the tasks in the kitchen as well as serving food to student participants during the daily After School Tutoring Program
  • They are the ones responsible for the hygiene of the kitchen and they have to clean so the kitchen remains clean before the surprise inspections
  • They will take the temperature of the hot food that will be delivered daily, and record temperature upon delivery and then again upon time to serve in the daily meal program
  • They have to remove the required ingredients from the pantry and have to display side dishes in advance
  • They have to keep a daily record of number of meals served in the first round, any second meals, and totals
  • They have to store excess food away in the refrigerator, after the meal has been served
  • They have to report to the After School Program and communicate any concerns or issues, paper good needs (plates, forks, cups, napkins, foil, plastic bags, dish soap, etc).
  • They have to train any new members of the kitchen help regarding the work culture of the kitchen
  • They have to clean all the equipment that is used in the kitchen
  • They must work together with maintenance staff to make sure that trash is disposed of and spills are mopped up.
  • May be extended throughout our other programs as well throughout our organization.


The kitchen volunteer is handed responsibilities by our Executive staff and Executive Director. They have to report to these two authorities in the kitchen. They have take up whatever job is given to them. Many times, there are shortages of other staff like servers so the kitchen staff have fill in for the absentees.

Development Assistant (Fundraising)

The development assistant is responsible to assist the Director of Development/Project Coordinator in the coordination of the organization’s fundraising efforts. They might develop a fundraising plan, secure financial support, run special events for donors, and run other projects to ensure the organization meets its annual goals. The Development Assistant will also assist with data entry to the donor database, acquisition of donations from corporate businesses, and private donors.

Outreach Assistant - 4 Volunteers needed

We seek an outgoing individual who is energetic and loves serving the community.


Outreach Assistant duties are as follows:

  1.  Assist in planning, organizing, and making presentations at schools, youth groups etc.
  2. Perform required research and develop strategies to accomplish foundation goals as it relate to youth.
  3. Research, evaluate, and recommend funding sources and programs that will support and address the needs of the foundation.

You’ll have the opportunity to make an impact and tell stories through video and be a key player who understands the impact video makes. In addition, you will:

  • Have a background in shooting video or as a video editor, but relish the behind-the-scenes role producing and packaging video content that captures and engages
  • Have strong technical skills, and experience video production software and apps in the industry.
  • Be a strong communicator: The ability to communicate status updates to Executive Director and Board that will set you apart in this role
  • Have strong interpersonal skills – we work with a variety of clients, and embracing diversity is why B2MG2W stands out, and why clients want to watch our videos
  • Patience and a sense of humor: You know the drill…project needs can change on a moment’s notice, there are fire drills and deadlines, but you are calm, cool, and collected in times of change
