Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering to help change the life of a child and generations of children. Any assistance is appreciated, just a few hours a month is all that is needed. Now is the time to become a productive member of the community by volunteering. 

You will have the opportunity to assist in many areas while enhancing your personal development skills and learning new skills for your future career. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for young adults and college students or anyone who is interested in making a difference in a child's life. 

Every Volunteer/Tutor/Mentor must meet specific qualifications as we do work with children:

• Because we do work with children, there will be LIVESCAN fingerprinted done by private Livescan operator for our Boys2Men Girls2Women. NO EXCEPTIONS. 
• Must provide a photocopy of a CA Driver's License.
• Must provide a photocopy of social security card.
• Must be aware of being a Mandated Reporter. 
• Must be able to tutor a group of up to 5 students.
• Must be able to teach state standards for grades K-8 in subjects of math and language arts.
• Must wear an employee ID badge during tutoring sessions (tutors). This will be provided at training.
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be self-motivated and organized. 
• Must be sensitive to the social as well as academic needs of the student(s).
• Must be committed to working with parents as educational partners and develop positive communication between parent(s), student and tutor (yourself).
