Our founder of Boys2Men-Girls2Women Author/writer Joseph D. Perry, retired pastor and son of the same, saw a need to save today's youth from a future of hardship, and decided to do something about it.
After being ordained and licensed with the Church of God in Christ, Perry worked as a youth minister in Los Angeles. There he witnessed many of the young children did not know how to read or write, as well as an alarming school dropout rate.
Determined to fight for change, Perry created the Non-Profit organization “Boys2Men-Girls2Women Foundation” in 2000. The mission of this fast growing organization is to keep children in school, out of gangs, off drugs, and prevent teen pregnancy.
In 2004, Perry felt God call and challenge him to start a church named San Joaquin Valley Bible Church. So four years after launching the Boys2MEN-Girls2Women organization, the foundation would meet the children’s physical needs while the Church would meet their spiritual needs.
During Perry’s 12 years of pastoring he noticed that even the most basic materials were often still too spiritually advanced for new believers. Perry felt God urge him then called him to create and write spiritual curriculum and study guides at a level that anyone could comprehend. He began writing specialized and tailor made curriculum for what he called “embryos in Christ”.
After over a decade of pastoring, Perry retired to focus on full time writing as God has called him to take this curriculum and translate it into many languages so it can be utilized in many countries around the world. “We’ve got to increase the spiritual maturity level of the world and we must do it drastically”, says Perry.
