What is the ONE ACCORD Gospel Ministries?
What is the One Accord Gospel Choir & Ministries is a Christian Gospel music performing arts program located in the San Joaquin Valley in Fresno County, state of California. Founded in March 2010, we are dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song. The ONE ACCORD Gospel Ministries is a diverse group, in age, ethnicity, and background. One Accord also includes performing arts talents such as dance and drama in its productions and performances.

What kind of music and performing arts does the choir program do?
There will be a diverse music selection that appeals to all cultures and all ages. We typically sing Contemporary Gospel music from Gospel artists such as Tye Tribbett, Kurt Carr, Hezekiah Walker, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, and Richard Smallwood. We also sing spirituals, hymns and Christian-themed multi-cultural songs from Artist such as Matthew West, Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Natalie Grant, Newsboys. Elements of dance and drama are incorporated into selected performances.

How often do you perform?
We are the featured Choir each Sunday at the San Joaquin Valley Bible Church. Additionally, we may have a few additional performances at local churches or at ONE ACCORD sponsored events (such as High Schools, Colleges and City Wide Events). One Accord Choir and Performing arts groups are available to perform upon request. Booking Request

How often do you rehearse?
We rehearse every week on Saturday afternoons for two hours. Currently, rehearsals are from 2:00pm-4:00pm and typically take place TBA. Additionally, before performances, we may schedule an extra rehearsal as needed. Please check our (rehearsal schedule page) to view up-to-date information about upcoming rehearsals

When does the choir accept new members?
New members typically join the choir near the beginning of each month, but late-comers are always welcome at anytime during the month.

Do I have to audition?
The ONE ACCORD Gospel Choir and performing arts program is generally a non-auditioning group. We have some members with lots of prior singing, dancing or acting experience and some with very little prior experience. So, don't worry about your ability and just come join us!
However to join the elite choir that will represent the Valley at national singing competitions, an audition will be requested.

Absolutely! Feel free to attend our rehearsal to get a feel for what this program of epic proportion is like and if you want to join.

Are there a limited number of spots for new members?
No, there is no limit on the number of new members that we accept each month. Unlike some other groups, there are no "spots" that potential members compete for. If you would like to perform with us, then come join us!

How much performance experience do I need to join?
We have some members with lots of prior performing experience and some with very little prior experience. So, don't worry about your ability and just come join us!

What if I can't attend all the rehearsals?
We ask our members to strive to attend as many rehearsals as possible, especially right before our performances. However, we understand that there will be times when members will have to miss rehearsals. In these situations, we ask that our members promptly notify the leadership team about expected absences before each weekly rehearsal.

Can I still join if I'm not a Christian?
The “One Accord” Choir welcomes anyone who wishes to be a part of the choir, regardless of their religion. However, the music we sing does have a focused message which is inevitably linked to the Christian message and lifestyle. As a Christian group, our rehearsals include times of prayer and scripture readings.

Does the choir have dues or costs associated with it?
Yes. There is a registration fee of $25.00 that will provide you with the lyrics, music and T-shirt for this program. Additionally we request membership dues of 25.00 per month. These dues help the program to cover all its expenses including space, program supplies, food, and a new T-shirt that we will be designing this year. We accept the $25 registration fee at sign-up. However, we can also do a payment schedule. If you would like to speak with our ministry team about our dues and your specific financial situation, please email sjvccchoir.oneaccord@gmail.com

How can musicians be involved with the program?
We welcome musicians who would like to be involved with the program and perform with us. Whether you play piano, drums, bass, guitar, violin, flute, etc...we would love to find a place for you to perform with us at our concerts or singing engagements. We have a mailing list for people/groups who want to receive newsletters about the program, including concert announcements and select engagements.
